Will I See My Pet In Heaven?

The loss of a pet is as heartbreaking as the death of a person who is loved. As surely as I’ve lived and loved numerous pets, Beyond the Rainbow BridgeWe’ve continually asked God this one question, “Will I see my pet in heaven?” The answer doesn’t come overnight. In fact, many years passed before God filled my heart with a reply that felt right.

While on quest for an answer when young, I heard animals wouldn’t join us because they don’t have souls. This made me sad and I did not want to believe. I questioned above, “How could a loving Lord who created such beautiful creatures, not bring them to heaven?”  After all, dogs are filled with unconditional love. They are faithful and forgiving and always ready to jump in your lap for love. They become part of the family, like our children. And so, I went on a search in the Scriptures for some comforting verses.

Will I see my pet in heaven | Bible verses found that talk about animals:

Romans 8:21
All creation anticipates the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

Ecclesiastes 3:18-20
As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals.  Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other.

Luke 12:6
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.

Revelation 5:13
…every creature which is in heaven.

It is likely correct to say that almost everyone has lost a pet. At minimal, everyone who visits this website has lost a pet. For me, many years passed until the answer came to my question: Will I see my pet in heaven? My conclusion is an astounding… yes, I will!

A song about Loving a Pet

You can watch this special video that’s titled: Only Forever

When would be a good time, for me to say goodbye?
How could I be ready, to look one last time in your eyes?
When would I be willing, to never see you again.
If God should ask me…I could not say when.
Only forever…with enough time to love,
Nothing lasts for always…to fill my heart up.
How much would satisfy…the longings of love,
Only forever… would ever be enough.

I’d say you left too soon…I wanted so much more,
I thought there would be time…I thought we had so much in store,Rainbow Bridge Vising Hours
Only forever… with enough time to love,
Nothing less than always…to fill my heart up.
How much would satisfy…the longing of love,
Only forever… would ever be enough.

I am certain of this story…that Jesus died for love,
God came down among us…then He went back up above.
He said I’ll come back to get you…He said I will give you life,
I will take you to be with me…for only always is enough?
Only forever… with enough time to love,
Nothing less than always…to fill my heart up,
How much would satisfy…the longing of love?
Only forever… will ever be enough.

As believers, we need to trust God. When you put all of these verses together on this topic, there might be a little clue in all of this that might possibly give us the answer.

The Bible says we will only “know in part” while we are living here on this earth.

We just have to hold on to the hope that the loss of our pets is temporary.  Surely, we will see our pets in Heaven. May each of you who has lost a beloved animal friend be reassured Beyond the Rainbow Bridge.

To end, here’s one more adorable tid-bit video that we just love.
